New iPhone 3G S...& that OS 3.0 mmm ya

Ok, so it is sorta new, the new iPhone 3G S but I'd say it's more of an upgrade than anything else, the bigger news is the new software (version 3.0)... hardware wise the 'new' iPhone has a new 600MHz processor, up from the 433 MHz one in the 3G version (the 2nd Gen iPod Touch has a 533MHz processor).

Pity that the battery life of the 3G S hasn't improved though. The camera has been upgraded (something the iPod hasn't got) to 3 megapixel.

But the big news (for the iPod) is the software update, which will activate the bluetooth embedded in the iPod Touch so bluetooth headsets will be an option when listening to music watching movies etc. for the iPhone and iPod Touch alike the software version 3.0 will improve and add much more functionality (cut, copy, paste which has been sorely missed, and a novel search function called spotlight) to both and apparently open up a whole new frontier for games and applications alike...

Now if Apple would just open an iTunes store for SA, we have an application store (app's and a few pathetic games) but we definitely don't have all the high end app's and especially games that are available elsewhere!!?? come on Apple, we've been patient enough...

whats in a photo...?

Yes I guess many would say people who take photos miss the small moments, cos they're too obsessed with whats happening behind the lens, well I agree and I don't agree. I would just have disagreed but a while ago while travelling with my wife she alluded to the fact that I shouldn't just focus on the photos, but also need to take things in, adsorb, experience, etc. and she's right, very much so... Its important (for me) to get the photos, but my motivation is now different, I know only take photos if there is something that will allow me to express my art, to capture something special, odd, unexpected etc. but I don't wander around taking photos for the hell of it. Time for Change...

And so the time comes for change, and to embrace it is a given, for to not do so equates to a parochial world view akin to a peephole...We are what we live, what we yearn for deep inside and how we strive to make that real. I hold ethics and trust high on my moral outlook but keeping those grounded in reality is sometimes more challenging than I thought. The world has it's own rules it seems, and like I've said before, its easy to give advice, its quite another to test its validity at the point of contact...I'm reminded of a speech by Roosevelt, part of which states the following. " It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does ...

A contradiction..

Strange how we find stimulation in the 'unusual' the 'unordinary', similarly I think, the same applies to beauty. It's more emotionally moving when it's unexpected, like the shock of finding it drives the sense of wonder even higher.  I think one of the worse reactions we can have is to try and explain something we know little or nothing about, but ask feel this incling to understand it by rationalising it, instead of just alleviating it in the context of its discovery!
