And so...

And so! It's another year of uncertainty in all things except the unequivocalness of mortality and the continued battle to ignore such reality, and it's implications...And so, I owe it to myself to strive, to plunder my heart and mind for any and all vestiges of hope, compassion and love, and lift those up onto the 2025 pedestal!

survival is a necessity!

When all seems obtuse, unclear, and/or uncertain, and transience is the only unequivocal, then, survival is the most forgiving option...

Avoidance is being intentionally delusional

Everything is connected, nothing is isolated, all is present, past and future, because its all out there somewhere, and can be found somehow, somewhere, always, without exception.  Truth is manufactured, reality is perception and we chose our version based on so much outside our control, either directly or indirectly!  Even facts can be disputed, to the point that they can change a narrative if they are posted, retreated, or shared enough. It's NB to take a step back every so often, it's essential...

Being Circumspect

Is not anyways about being the loudest or being the centre of attention, or making sure your voice gets heard, there's a great sense of contentment that can be derived by just knowing something, without sharing it with others, a strange sense of accomplishment...

A contradiction..

Strange how we find stimulation in the 'unusual' the 'unordinary', similarly I think, the same applies to beauty. It's more emotionally moving when it's unexpected, like the shock of finding it drives the sense of wonder even higher.  I think one of the worse reactions we can have is to try and explain something we know little or nothing about, but ask feel this incling to understand it by rationalising it, instead of just alleviating it in the context of its discovery!

Intentionality!

It's about being present, in the actual moment that we find those authentic bits of ourselves, and it's those bits the we need to cultivate and nurture, in a world so preoccupied by its own superficiality, indeed, its those bits that will, in time define us in a manner that warrants value, virtue and truth!

Status quo!

Bit by bit, moment by moment, thought by thought... State of senses personified!

Hopeful in a time of despair...

How? Moment by moment, bit by bit, conscience thought by conscience thought, day by day, all the time try and find remnants, fractions and pieces of good, in you and the world, and you put them all together, hold them tight, and focus on them, grasp them with all the love you can muster, that type of love the allows hope to remain, to resist evil, and to flourish in strange times!

The nonchalance of apathy!

Maybe it's the fall out of the pandemic, or a spin off due to the decline of humanity, as you strive for compromise and grey, you lose your passion, your drive, your honesty, cos you're so worried about offending, or bring called out. No longer taking a stand... Is just sad sometimes to see the level of apathy, we talk about compassion, about love, about equity etc. But actually we're just worried about how solid our facade is, will people believe the fake smiley person they see, you, and in the grey we create, we lose sight of ourselves and others.

Another time...

It's all about perception, love in a time of weirdness, you see what you want, but what you want is not guided by what's real, and you've lost sight of what you need. You have a hole and try filling it with stuff or things instead of experience, love, beauty, time...

Just a bit of funk... for the sake of getting it out there, cos keeping the good stuff to ourselves does little for the others that need it.

Sometimes it's just about getting a bit of beauty of there... Sometimes it's about getting a bit of weirdness out there... And sometimes it's about the grey inbetween...

to Bee or just to be...

Sometimes we need to ask ourselves "is it enough to just be? Our do we need to be the bee"

Melancholic narrations

So it seems arbitrary, but it's amazing how many times it's the little things, right... The little things that define us, not only to ourselves but to others out there. Sometimes it's not about choices but about the consequences alone, of a choice! Completely incomplete and all the meanderings in between while we try intently to forge a direct line between point A and point B.

And so it goes...

The beauty while in bloom is quickly removed by the narration of time... And replaced with a vestige, a mild reminder of what was, what was lost, gone or dead. But so it goes...

whats in a photo...?

Yes I guess many would say people who take photos miss the small moments, cos they're too obsessed with whats happening behind the lens, well I agree and I don't agree. I would just have disagreed but a while ago while travelling with my wife she alluded to the fact that I shouldn't just focus on the photos, but also need to take things in, adsorb, experience, etc. and she's right, very much so... Its important (for me) to get the photos, but my motivation is now different, I know only take photos if there is something that will allow me to express my art, to capture something special, odd, unexpected etc. but I don't wander around taking photos for the hell of it. I've realised that I've grown as a photographer, so when I enter a place or context I very quickly identify photos to take if any, if there is nothing I put my camera away and take in the scenes, the life, and absorb whats going on around me. I prioritise the experience, when the scene or con...

And so you think you are special...

Remember, your state of senses, your head-space if you will, is directly related to the situations, moments and people you are involved with at any given time, so before you lose yourself, first unbundle the other aspects and interrogate them a little... then take a step or two back and piece things together again, you'll feel better I promise, it may not last but just that moment of relief is worth a bunch! I know.

Purgatory… Indeed!

When day and night feel like something in-between, and good and bad are neither, then you know emotions and thoughts are topsy turvy too and shouldn’t be trusted in entirety. Tough times are about surviving, but not at the expense of appreciating one’s reality. You gotta take ownership of the deception otherwise you could get lost in the 'fakeness' of the surviving. And when it’s time to re-emerge and be true to you again, you can’t, because you’ve lost the defining bits of you and things don’t fit together like they used to. Purgatory is fine for a time, remember to boss it, lest it consumes you…

If only…

If only we knew what was going to happen, we could plan so much better, and yet it’s in all the planning that we forget about living. So maybe the fact that the future is indeed unknown is the motivating factor (or should be) for living a bit more carefree, a little less circumspect and a whole lot more living.

Hallelujah…sort of

I wonder how often we use fate to rationalise things we are trying to avoid (in full or partial). It is a fact that we want to believe that bad things happening is something, in terms of process at least, that we need to be in control of, whether perceived or actual, even when the actual is merely a pragmatic way of rationalising things so far outside our control we’d rather not entertain the implication(s) of the truth, hallelujah!
