So Maybe…

It’s a new year (2013), there are new resolutions for the year, resolutions we almost definitely will not stick to or achieve, but its in the identifying of them that we acknowledge and/or take stock of where we are in our lives, even if its superficial in a sense. Resolutions are a reflection of the stuff about ourselves that we don’t like (generally) or want to change.
So in a sense there’s an honesty in being able to identify them (assuming there’s more than one), we then go straight ahead (some quicker than others) and ‘rubbish’ them and by the end of January most of us don’t even remember what they were, BUT, at least for the briefest of time we acknowledged that there is ‘stuff’ about us that’s not perfect (not that we are ignorant to the ‘stuff’ but its serves our selfish parochial tendencies better to ‘not engage’ with, said ‘stuff’), and maybe we need to. Instead of just going through the habitual ‘resolution identifying process’ in mid December (or late on the 31st, a few minutes before midnight), we should force ourselves, on a more regular basis to take stock of that ‘stuff’, take a few minutes (or hours, depending on the ‘heap’ of ‘stuff’ you have) and put in a consummate effort to ‘make’, ‘modify’ and ‘amend’ ourselves to better reflect the innate tendencies of self “less”ness, humility and being a better person to the world and those in it, even if it necessitates a  bit of ‘sacrifice’ of self, do it! the world desperately needs it!

Beauty is perception...

When I see photos like this I wonder why it is that we crave so diligently things that contradict the beauty so evident! Is it only the lucky few who seek out and live this life where beauty is so innate to one's living who appreciate the levity of their life? We others desire so much 'stuff' that all else is compromised most notably our state of senses, our sense of being, our world so one dimensional that we lose our souls to it's linearity... And in doing so we lose ourselves and the opportunity to appreciate and experience true beauty in the world!

My new Poddy 2nd Gen

After knocking Apple for yrs I've taken the plunge, suffice to say it's truly awesome! I was the first to say NO! not an Apple, iTunes sux , iPods are overpriced etc etc. But after taking the plunge (traitor that I am) I hav e to say it really is an unbelievable device, and so much more than a mere MP3/4 player, the 2 nd Gen has a faster processor compared to the 1st Gen (& iPhone 3G) its slimmer, now with a full aluminium back (iPhone & 1st Gen has plastic backs), in built speaker and external volume buttons. Battery life is boosted to with 35 odd hours of music playing and about 5 to 6 hours video playback, if you use it for a lot of WiFi and gaming it's battery life comes down to 2 to 3 hrs (constant use). And the intuitiveness and seamlessness with which app's work and function is in a league of its own, seriously. The reason I took the plunge... besides the glorious design is the fact that we have a App Store in SA now so applications and games can...
